Overview

You love getting your hands dirty.

You’ve done some basic repairs around your house, and you’re always trying to learn how to do things yourself. There’s no way around it—you’re a hands-on kind of person. And you love helping people!

You sound like a perfect fit for our Electrical Apprentice position! You don’t even need electrical experience. This is a position for people who wanna learn on the job!

Your Role

As an Electrical Apprentice:

  • You’ll assist experienced electricians on larger projects. Sometimes, you’ll pull wires, mount boxes, or install things like outlets or ceiling fans! But because you’re an apprentice, you won’t be left on your own. You’ll have an expert alongside you to make sure you’re always learning and growing your electrical skills!
  • You’ll handle some inspection duties. From meeting inspectors for inspections to labeling breakers and pumping gas lines for generators, you’ll make sure electrical installations are all set for inspection!
  • You’ll assist with trench jobs and back fill. This could mean helping dig trenches for underground electrical work, placing conduit in the ground, and then back filling once everything is installed.
  • You’ll tackle smaller electrical jobs on your own. This includes things like breakers, receptacles, light switches, ceiling fans, lights, and more. And the more you learn on the job, the more you’ll be able to do over time!

Responsibilities

Other Highlights of the Job

  • You’ll make $19/hour
  • You’ll assist and learn from an experienced electrician in the field while doing REAL electrical work. It’s a great opportunity to get hands-on training with experts in the industry. All while getting paid!
  • You get a company vehicle, free uniforms, and a free laundry service
  • You’ll have year-round stability with available overtime
  • Morris-Jenkins has won Top Workplace year after year!

  • You like physical work because you can actually see the results of your efforts. You feel accomplished after you help put things together with your own hands! You can’t picture yourself working a desk job.
  • You care about people. Electrical problems can be dangerous for families and their homes, and you’re passionate about protecting people. You wanna do things the right way because you know it’s what’s best for them!
